Christian Läufer advises national and international companies in all areas of patent, trade mark and employee invention law. The focus of his work is on strategic IP advice as well as obtaining, defending and enforcing patents. He has conducted numerous patent application and opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and the German Patent and Trademark Office. He also represents his clients in defending and enforcing their IP rights in nullity and infringement proceedings before the Federal Patent Court and the Regional and Higher Regional Courts.

Christian Läufer studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich. He graduated in the top 5 percent of his class in 2013. He was a scholarship holder of the Hans Rudolf Foundation Miesbach. Since 2014, he has been working in the field of intellectual property law. In 2018, he joined Fuchs Patentanwälte and became a partner in 2021. He is a German Patent Attorney, European Trademark and Design Attorney and a professional representative before the European Patent Office and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

Christian Läufer has successfully supported both start-ups and large medium-sized companies in building up a patent portfolio. He has also been very successful in obtaining patent grants in the fields of software, FinTech and InsureTech, which are considered difficult to patent.

On behalf of Fuchs Patentanwälte, he is involved as a network partner in Hessian.AI, the Hessian Centre for Artificial Intelligence, and is an honorary member of the SDG/ESG Committee of I3PM.

In addition to classical mechanical engineering and mechatronics, his technical focus areas include in particular medical, energy and automotive engineering, metallurgy and injection moulding technology, GreenTech as well as software and computer-implemented inventions.
