Dr.-Ing. Matthias Heger, patent attorney since 2012 and professional representative before the European Patent Office since 2019, successfully represents his clients in patent law matters, in particular in application proceedings, as well as in trade mark and design law and in German and international patent litigation.
After studying chemistry at the Technical University of Darmstadt, he took over a research project at the German Plastics Institute (DKI) Darmstadt in 1995. In 2001, he obtained his doctorate in polymer chemistry. From 2001 to 2008, he worked in R&D at Branopac GmbH (Ltd)and Treofan Germany GmbH & Co. KG (limited partnership, the general partner being a Ltd), focusing on film products based on polyethylene, polypropylene and polylactic acid as well as coating of BOPP films. He has been active in the field of intellectual property since 2008.
Dr.-Ing. Matthias Heger’s professional focus is on polymer chemistry and polymer processing, systems and equipment for polymer production and moulding, chemical process engineering, plant engineering and general mechanical engineering, rapid prototyping processes and devices, and computer-implemented inventions.
