Dr. Tobias Fischer advises and represents clients across a wide range of patent and IP matters in the life sciences, with a particular focus on new biological entities (NBEs), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and the biopharmaceutical and biosimilar sectors. In doing so, he places great emphasis on commercially sound advice and develops robust filing strategies tailored to his clients’ needs.

Dr. Fischer brings extensive experience from the pharmaceutical industry, where he was responsible for the patent portfolios of preclinical and clinical development candidates and successfully conducted opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office. Prior to joining the firm, he headed the IP group of a publicly listed biotech company, where he played a key role in developing and steering the company-wide IP strategy.

Dr. Fischer completed his scientific training at Heidelberg University and at the renowned Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, supported by a fellowship from the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds in the field of molecular neurobiology. He has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2010.

Dr. Fischer also shares his expertise as a lecturer: at Ulm University, he teaches European Patent Law in the Molecular and Translational Neuroscience (MTN) master’s program.

In 2026, he joined the firm. He is a German Patent Attorney, an European Patent Attorney, and a registered representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
